The Impact

The work we do helps to address the root cause for many of the problems our communities face instead of just treating symptoms. By empowering individuals to take control of their lives and destinies, we are able to create four main impacts.

01

Financial & Economic

We have helped people living on the street start their own businesses and secure the future for themselves and their families. Participants understand their ability to generate enough income to meet their needs and those of their families. We help them break patterns and cycles surrounding money by equipping people with practical skills in business and selling.

Emotional

Rather than feel depressed and sorry for themselves, they feel confident in their ability to achieve. We also transform how people think about themselves, their lives, and what's possible. Participants leave our programs feeling excited, empowered, and inspired to achieve their new goals without feeling reliant on someone else to provide for them.

Mindset & Beliefs

We change the mindsets of individuals who previously depended on government handouts, parents or grandparents, or unethical ways of making money. We challenge the mindset around money, culture, accountability, ethics, and leadership so that individuals can take ownership of their own futures.

By breaking down this type of thinking and allowing them to see how it is possible to start a business by leading with the customers and breaking the traditional cultural beliefs about money:

For high schoolers, addressing mindset is of paramount importance. We want to support young students and build an entrepreneurial mindset so they don’t leave school thinking the world owes them or waiting for government assistance. We want them to go out into the world, take their destiny into their own hands, and build their business. If they want to continue their studies, we support that, but we want to make sure we give them the business skills they need through our workshops.

We help people understand they are accountable for their lives – not their government, their parents, extended family members, or the economy.

Culture & Ethics

Our mission is not to destroy the local culture where we operate. Instead, we discuss the positive and negative aspects of their culture, as well as the limitations associated with them, so participants can see opportunities beyond their circumstances. They don’t have to be limited. They can be who they are meant to be and have goals. In cultures where women are continuously told they can’t do things and they aren’t worth anything, we help them discover their worth, purpose, mission, and goals to rediscover their lives.

We also discuss many of the ethical barriers that come up. For example, bribing is a very standard practice in many African countries, and they view it as part of owning a business. We challenge them to see another way.

Globe

Overall, our programs:

Drive economic and social change by helping individuals learn business skills and ethical principles.

Drive growth for existing business by helping leaders clarify their strategy and optimize their execution.
